ControlScan Champions Activities Supporting National Cyber Security Awareness Month 2015
Atlanta-based managed security service provider showcases its commitment to cyber security and online safety
ATLANTA, Oct. 1, 2015 - ControlScan, the managed security service provider (MSSP) IT leaders and their organizations rely upon for unified security and compliance, is joining individuals and organizations around the world to champion National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2015, a growing global effort among colleges and universities, businesses, government agencies, associations, nonprofit organizations and individuals to promote online safety awareness.
Celebrated each October, National Cyber Security Awareness Month is coordinated and led by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) and the Department of Homeland Security. NCSAM has grown exponentially since its inception in 2004, reaching consumers, small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), corporations, educational institutions and young people across the nation and internationally.

During the month of October, ControlScan will sponsor and participate in a variety of activities to support NCSAM:
- Phishing Awareness Webinar: On Tuesday, October 20 at Noon EST, ControlScan CISO Kevin Patel will present a “lunch and learn” session to ControlScan staff on ways to spot and combat phishing attacks. This live session will be simulcast as a free-to-the-public online webinar.
- Weekly Twitter Chat: A cyber security expert from ControlScan will “guest tweet” under the @ControlScan Twitter handle each Thursday in October at 3 p.m. EST. Find the chat using hash tag #ChatSTC.
- Dedicated Blog Posts: Each week, ControlScan thought leaders will post about cyber security awareness topics on the two company blogs, www.smbsecurityguide.org and www.pcicomplianceguide.org.
- Daily Security Awareness Tips: ControlScan will also offer daily security awareness tips via its LinkedIn and Twitter social channels.
